MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Luke 2:14
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
It's Christmas, ( like you didn't know that already, lol!).
Festive season.
End of year season.
Celebrations.
Activities.
Reunions.
Travels.
Parties...
And what have you.
I personally love this time of year for more reasons than one.
I am however reminded by the above verse of scripture of the need to demonstrate and manifest the message that the Angels brought to the shepherds on that first Christmas night more than two thousand years ago.

To my mind, nothing captures the true essence of this season like the twin virtues of PEACE and GOODWILL towards ALL people.
In order not to make a mockery of the celebration of Jesus' birth, let us all endeavour to make this a season of peace and goodwill towards all people.
Romans Romans 14:19 renders it this way:
19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
So we need to make a deliberate effort to look for ways to not only make peace but also to keep the peace between us and everyone we have any connection with. It will not happen by default, especially if there had been no love lost between us prior to this time. Consciously, painstakingly therefore let us make peace our quest this season, and that with all men.
For the avoidance of doubt, peace means the same thing as reconciliation, unity, truce and concord.
Goodwill is the companion of peace in the above verse of scripture. It means kindness, benevolence. There is none of us who is averse to being thought of and treated with utmost regard. Well, let us spread that same sweet aroma around this season by engaging everyone in our spheres in a manner that exemplifies how we would like to be thought of and treated. Sincerely wish everyone well no matter what.
This can only happen though if we allow the peace of God to first rule in our hearts, because you cannot give what you do not possess; Colosians 3:15.
I pray therefore that the peace that Jesus brought to us will gird your heart and so overwhelm you that it will become contagious to everyone you come across this festive season and indeed always.
From my family to yours, here's wishing you the merriest Christmas ever, devoid of any thing apart from the tranquility and joy that Jesus' birth brought to us.
May the coming year 2016 also be your best year ever, you and your loved ones.
Joyeux Noël a tous!
Shalom
